Does anybody really care about North Korea? by Tony Garcia
Answer by Tony Garcia:
The Asia-Pacific Rim certainly cares about stability in the region. As transnationalism supersedes traditional boundaries, the region has assumed global importance.
North Korea’s pursuit of a nuclear capability is no longer the pipe dream of a reckless leader of a small state representing the last vestiges of communism. It posits a serious dilemma for both American and Chinese policymakers: Accept North Korea as a de facto nuclear weapons state, or recognize that denuclearization is only possible with regime change.
