Are dead-drops still used by intelligence agents around the world? by Tony Garcia
Answer by Tony Garcia:
Last summer I was in Manhattan going to one of my favorite haunts when I noticed two chalks marks near the bottom of one of those dark green relay mail boxes. I had seen them there in times past—a signal to service a dead-drop or perhaps request a clandestine meeting.
It was like seeing younger people enjoy a tune that I had loved in my youth. There are, clearly, still occasions for some old-time tradecraft.
