Why are the Hittites forgotten? by Tony Garcia

Answer by Tony Garcia:

Who? Did you say the Hittites?

Are you referring to the ones from the Bible, one of whose women married Esau, another of whom was “acquired” by King David when he killed Uriah the Hittite in order to get Uriah’s wife, several of whom were married to King Solomon, and the one Ezekiel used in a “mother” joke to degrade Israel?

Or do you mean the archaeological Hittites, who apparently couldn’t get along with any of their neighbors, and thus had to flee their own capitol city, Hattusa, for the land of obscurity?
